Gold Prices Today: nice bravejoural.com
Eva: I am so sad that I will miss you when I am back in NYC for the Fourth of July. But I can't wait to read about your new adventures in NOLA. BTW, I've tagged you over at my blog. :)
Cait: JeAnne - I've been following your progress for 5 yrs and not long ago I saw your "Tim Gunn" episode & then last night I saw your "I Lost It" episode. I lost 100 lbs in 2003 & you were part of my inspiration. In the past year I've been struggling again, have gained back 30 lbs. I can't keep from compulsive overeating relying just on my WW & exercise & behavior mod tools. Losing the weight didn't end these problems. So I've joined OA online and finally have some hope & relief.
Angie: Jeanne - you are at a great place in your life. Best wishes
Garf: hello...care to exchange link?if so let me know so I can add your link yo my blog.
Gina: Hi Jeanne!Just came across your blog and wanted to say hi! It's Gina from episode 6 of Tim Gunns guide to style. I see you have a picture of Hassan up there (you look awesome in it by the way) He was my director too. :-) I thought you were great and very inspiring. I enjoyed your site!Gina :)

Queen Jean is back!!!

  • Mood: Excited!
  • Hunger scale: a little peckish
  • What fits now? size large t shirt..and no stretching out necessary

Holy cow it's been a long time since I've had an update.

Lots going on:

1) It's been 5 days without a bathroom sink. We actually really like the guys we hired to do the work, they do great work but jobs ALWAYS take longer than they (contractors in general, not specifically these guys) say. Always. So I should never get excited when I hear "oh this will be done in a week"...because it's like dog years. One week in normal human time really equals two or three in contractor time. On the other hand, our bathroom is going to look beautiful and once it is done, we are like 80% done with the upstairs in our house (one room sheet rock and flooring left plus painting in the bedroom). We followed the style of the house and worked with our gigantic claw foot tub. We splashed out and got a porcelain square console sink and when with satin nickel fixtures...I love the little "hot" and "cold" printed porcelain levers...so cute and very old school hotel or something. Also black and white square tiles on the floor....yay retro!

2)I'm maintaining. Wait..that should be "I'm maintaining!!!!" I actually saw the 190's for more than 2 minutes and now I'm bouncing around 198 - 201...better than 200-203. I know I could probably exert "Body for Life" Challenge effort to lose more, but fact is I'm happy as Larry (who is Larry?) right now...it doesn't feel like a huge effort and I'm enjoying life as a size large.

3)I'm still boxing, but may be switching gyms. I love boxing, but my gym and the trainers have been kind of peeving me lately. My six month is up this month so I may shop around.

4)Work is busy and I have maybe 1/2 hour total in my day to web surf, pay bills, make calls etc. It's ok. The good news is I'm too busy to ponder the meaning of life and what my purpose is. The bad news is I miss a little of that free time. Oh well...the grass is always greener!

5)I heart my scrapbooking meetup group.  I now meet monthly with these women and they are fantastic.  Not only does it boost my own creativity, but it's a great social outlet without any kind of drama investment.  I just think meetup is such a great concept to get people together!! Yay meetup!  Now if only I could get my ass to a buffy meetup!

6)It's WILD SQUAD time in two weeks!!!! YAY!!! And this time 18 crazy gals are hitting up Key West vs. the traditional Chicago...I am SO PSYCHED to a)see and party with my weight watching girls again and b)be in the sun and snorkel with the fishies! WOO HOO! I am the big mermaid.

7)I auditioned and got selected for Tim Gunn's new Bravo show which premieres in the fall!! (I know I saved the best for last) WOO HOO! The reader's digest version here is Chaz was job hunting and saw this posting on Craigslist looking for people who were interested in a makeover. Free clothes? Why the hell not! ...says me. I submit my name and why I want free clothes (d'uh who wouldn't) and they called me to complete a 3 page application which is when I find out it's for Bravo...hmm...legitimate even, says me. So I fill out the application, get called in to do a "camera test", have a gal come out to my house to check out the pluses and pitfalls of my closet and then last week I found out I got it! So the juicy news is Bravo is launching "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style" show this fall. I'm taping for 5 days in July and I'm not allowed to change a hair about me til then. The makeover includes hair, makeup, wardrobe (including shoes! and maybe accessories!!) and fixing the gap in my teeth! The producer got me psyched by telling me to think high end designer! WOO! You are talking to the girl who gets excited about thrift stores and who fears all the fashion choices I have now. The shoes are not a problem (Jimmy Choo I love you), but I picked up a copy of Lucky to try to get clued in to designers. I was kind of nonchalant about it at first, but every time I tell someone about it they get so excited that I can't help but get pumped up.  I was telling one of my dearest friends Jonathan about it (he's known me at every size) and he said "Watch out world, queen jean is back"...queen jean being the nickname I inherited in college for being just over the top mostness.  Hence the title of this post.

So now I share with you and do a little dance of joy!
